![]() Scheurman's K9 Academy is an all breed, all age dog training organization. We do not support Breed Specific Legislation. We do not discriminate on based on age, sex, race or religion of the handler. The handler in group classes must have the physical and mental ability to handle their dog. All dog training programs at Scheurman's K9 Academy require the handlers to have full range of movement. The handlers must be able to bend, kneel down, walk and stand for periods of 1 hour. While Scheurman's K9 Academy accepts all dogs in to its training programs. Any dog that displays aggression to another dog, handler, student, or instructor will be required to be muzzled, in a full ram agitation muzzle. Students from other training programs wishing to enter our advanced training programs, are always welcome. We continue to offer perspective students the opportunity to test in to our intermediate training programs. Advanced training programs such as Search and Rescue, Protection Dog, and Competition Dog training programs require that the dog holds their American Kennel Club, Canine Good Citizens certificate, plus they must be registered in our lifetime intermediate program. This requirement is for the safety of the handlers, dogs, instructors and the community at large. It allows for the instructors to see the dog and handler each week and call the handlers attention to potential problems they may not be aware of. Further dogs do not fall in to the category of train them and forget them, they require maintenance training. By requiring students seeking advanced classes to remain in training, the instructors can keep the student and their dog's in top working condition, and keep their maintenance training to a minimum, which will reduced cost of the program over the course of your dog's life. |
