Scheurman's K9 Academy
Competition

Competition is not for everyone, but anyone can compete. At Scheurman's K9 Academy we believe every team has a two or three hundred in them, they just don't know how to tap in to it. Whether you are interested in AKC, UKC, Mixed breed obedience, Schutzhund, KNPV or The ring sports.

We can make you the best of the best. The below statement sets the pace for training in our competition classes. I request entrance into the Competition Obedience Class, for the objective of obtaining one or more of the following titles AKC, UKC, Schutzhund, KNPV, French Ring, or Mixed Breed obedience title.

For one or more of the following titles categories; Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility Dog, Obedience Trial Champion, Tracking Dog, Tracking Dog Excellent, A.D., B.H., F.H., Schutzhund I, Schutzhund II, Schutzhund III, PH I, PH 2, Bevhert, FR I, FR II, and or FR III title.

I affirm that I will do whatever it takes, make sacrifices to the degree necessary, to be the best of the best. I will help my fellow students, to the best of my ability. I will conduct myself according to the rules of good sportsmanship. I agree to abide by the regulations set forth by the rules for the organization holding the event.

I further understand that this course will entail running, and other physical activity. That I am in good health, and mentality competent to make this statement.

What we mean by I affirm that I will do whatever it takes.

  • Attend ALL classes necessary to obtain your goal.
  • Bring all your personal training aids required by the class you are attending.
  • Travel to the degree necessary to attend matches, and trials.
  • Train in the rain, heat of day, the cold of winter, in bright light, and at night.

What we mean by make sacrifices to the degree necessary.

  • Time is a precious commodity, once spent, it can not be gotten back. What we demand is time. Competition classes can run two to four hours a day twice a week.

  • We not only work the dogs, we also go over the rules for the organization holding the event. We give written tests on the rules. We review tapes of the matches, trials, and shows our students are in, looking for mistakes, that cost points. Once identified we can remove them. Creating a higher over all score.

  • Traveling long distances, to attend MATCHES.

  • Paying entry fees, when you rather buy something else.

What we mean by the best of the best.

Everyone who trains with their dog is the best of the human race. Regardless of what they train for. We want only students that want to be the BEST. Students that will strive for perfection, but who can handle a qualifying score. Students who will return to class and work harder, after a defeat. Instead of letting the defeat, crush them and their dog. Students that have grace in winning and losing. Students who don't make excuses, but make progress. Students who can remember "Dog training is FUN."
