NOTE: Many advanced programs at Scheurman's K9 Academy require two or more instructors. In bite work, one person acts as the agitator/helper, one person as the safety officer, the instructor and one person as the dog handler (the student). the bare minimum is 3 with the instructor taking on the additional role of safety officer, ideal is 4 people.

In tracking and or trailing, one person acts as the track layer, the instructor and one person as the dog handler (the student), the bare minimum is 3.

The cost of advanced training programs also includes wear and tear on the equipment such as bite sleeves, tugs, bite suites, jumps and other specialized equipment utilized during the class. The saying nothing last forever is true of training equipment, bite suites sell for $1,400.00 up to $2,500.00 dollars. Jumps sell from $200.00 and up.

While the price may seem high, after looking at the associated cost of the programs, it will give you a better understanding of our pricing.

#P1 Group Lessons Developing Protection (prey) bitework: Seven week program: Rag, tug, soft sleeve, hard sleeve without bite bar, Out. Prerequisite: $650.00 00 enrollment fee for 7 weeks (up to 21 hours of training).

#P2 Developing Protection (defensive bitework): Seven week program: Targeting work on bite suite, Arm and or leg bites, Out. $650.00 00 enrollment fee for 7 weeks (up to 21 hours of training).

#P3 Advanced defensive bitework: Seven week program: Face Attack with Baton with and without obstacle, Face Attack with Accessories, Search and Escort, Defense of the Handler, Guarding an Object, Defense of handler, Stopped flee attack. $650.00 00 enrollment fee for 7 weeks (up to 21 hours of training).

Prerequisite: Pass the Intermediate Obedience program; be enrolled and active in the Intermediate Obedience Class and with permission of the instructor. Plus the dog must have earned the AKC CGC Certificate. Dog must be tattooed. Plus passed #P1 Developing Protection (prey) bitework and #P2 Developing Protection (defensive bitework).
